Hatam @ World Trade Center AD

Delivering an authentic Iranian and Persian casual dining experience, Hatam first opened its doors in 1989 and has grown from strength to strength. Fast forward to 2018 – and with a whopping 32 stores – the Hatam brand is an almost guaranteed sight in most malls across the Emirates.

We paid a visit to its World Trade Center branch in Abu Dhabi and were astounded by the efficiency and great value for money we received. The food arrived piping hot on our tables within 10min of ordering and in generous portions too.

Taste wise – The dishes certainly didn’t blow me away, but were full-flavoured and enjoyable.

The service was on the middling side but is to be expected with the price range.

Available on the entertainer with a buy-one-get-one-free deal on main courses, it was the steal of the week!

Bottom line – Hatam is a no frills no fuss place that will leave you with a full stomach and a smile on your face.

We ordered the following:

Complementary bread and vegetable platter

Kabak Shishlik
Price: 47 Dhs
Rating: 3.5/5
Preparation: Pieces of marinated lamb fillet in a special spice blend with saffron, served with fries. Flavourful and well-spiced, but too dry unfortunately.

Kabab Koobideh (Lamb)
Price: 54 Dhs
Rating: 4/5
Preparation: Juicy skewers of lamb, minced with onion and marinated in a special spice blend – Delicious! Though I would’ve enjoyed some more vegetables or greens on the side.

Ambiance
